The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) Longwood Arts Project seeks a Bronx-based Curatorial Fellow for a unique opportunity to assist with the implementation of the Longwood Art Gallery 2025 series of three exhibitions. The exhibitions will revolve around the theme “The World We Want to Live In” and examine art’s role in social and political movements – not only raising awareness, but also catalyzing public discourse and bringing new audiences into activism.

Eligibility: The Curatorial Fellow must reside in the Bronx, be able to travel within the borough, and hold a bachelor's degree in art or a related field. Experience in a museum or arts organization is preferred.

What you get: The Curatorial Fellowship program is highly competitive, and offers high-quality, real-world experience and mentorship to an emerging arts professional/curator in the visual arts field. This paid, six-month fellowship will allow the Fellow to work closely with inspiring BCA staff and creatives in one of the leading non-profit organizations in NYC. The Curatorial Fellow will receive a stipend of $3500 for their training and assistance in the exhibitions. The Fellowship will run from January 2025 through the end of June 2025, with a schedule of two days a week for five hours per day.

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) is seeking a Bronx-based youth journalist for our Youth Engagement Program (YEP) to write three (3) articles related to the Longwood Art Gallery exhibitions, specific artists and artworks, and/or topical essays.

Interested writers must submit examples of their work for consideration. The opportunity will require the youth journalist to travel to the gallery prior to, or during the exhibition’s opening night to review the artworks and interview the artists and curators, if available.

Eligibility: The journalist must be a Bronx resident, aged 18-24, and a student or recent graduate of a journalism, literature, or writing program.

What you get: Journalists will receive a $200 stipend per 500-word article, which will be featured in the Longwood Art Gallery ISSUU Exhibition Catalogue on the BCA website. They will write one article per exhibition (three total). Both the author and BCA retain reproduction rights with proper credit.

London's largest life drawing group, the Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, is offering three free year-long membership bursaries to young artists aged between 18 and 30.

Eligibility: The bursaries are intended for those who have had limited access to life and portrait drawing and painting, rather than artists who are already accomplished in this field. Artists can work in any medium or media, except those that cause damage or disruption to the galleries.

What you get: The opportunity to attend weekly life drawing sessions at Mall Galleries free of charge for a year, starting from January 2025. Untutored sessions will take place on Friday evenings and selected Monday evenings, between 6:00pm and 8:15pm. (Understandably there might be times when artists are unable to attend sessions, however frequent absences may result in the bursary being withdrawn). Designers in Residence invites young international designers to Pforzheim. It is an international design scholarship offered by the city of Pforzheim in cooperation with Pforzheim University and the Design Center Baden-Württemberg. Three designers will be invited to work on their projects from 1 April to 30 June 2025 at the EMMA Creative Center, the central platform for creatives in Pforzheim.

What you get: The scholarship includes the use of fully equipped workshops and coworking spaces at the EMMA Creative Center in Pforzheim, as well as free accommodation for the three-month period. The Austrian Cultural Forum London has announced the return of the Wolf Suschitzky Photography Prize for its fourth edition. They invite submissions from photographers based in Austria and the UK on the theme of “All the world’s a stage.” Inspired by this line from Shakespeare’s play As You Like It, we were moved by Wolf Suschitzky’s ability to capture the human experience. With his camera, he documented and found beauty in both universal and personal moments.

An international jury will select two winners—one based in Austria and one in the UK—who will each receive a 10-day residency in the partner country, a cash prize of €500, and an exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum in 2025 and FOTOHOF Salzburg in 2026.

Eight shortlisted artists will also be invited to participate in exhibitions in London and Salzburg.

The prize, which celebrates and reflects Wolf Suschitzky’s strong connection to both his land of birth and his chosen home, is presented in partnership with FOTOHOF Salzburg and with the generous support of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport of the Republic of Austria.

Each year, the Guggenheim Foundation awards approximately 175 fellowships to individuals making their mark in the social sciences, the natural sciences, the humanities, and the creative arts. Some notable early Fellows include Rachel Carson, James Baldwin, Martha Graham, and Linus Pauling.

Eligibility: All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada at the time of application. Guggenheim Fellowships are not open to students (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate).

What you get: The purpose of the Guggenheim Fellowship program is to provide Fellows with blocks of time in which they can work with as much creative freedom as possible. As such, grants are made freely, without any special conditions attached to them; Fellows may spend their grant funds in any manner they deem necessary to their work.

The Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt was founded to counteract the structural discrimination of women* visual artists in exhibitions and on the art market. It admits 15 women* visual artists per year and runs for 12 months, from the end of January to December. The programme takes place on a weekly basis, every Thursday and Friday, along with 3–4 intensive weeks.

Eligibility: We are looking forward to applications from women visual artists* of any age working in all disciplines preferably with a completed (arts) degree, or equivalent qualification with sufficient German language skills to follow discussions, contributions may be in English resident in Berlin with experience in artistic practice, specific goals and great motivation with the time and resources needed to work on concepts of communication and marketing while also working in the studio * The project is aimed at female* visual artists, i.e. all women*, including trans women as well as inter and non-binary people

What you get: The course content includes an analysis of the participant’s current position and aims in artistic practice, training in verbal and work presentation, and essential knowledge for self-employment such as tax, financing, and copyright. It also covers Berlin’s art scene through excursions, seminars, discussions, and networking opportunities. Participants will plan and realise a personal website and a catalogue brochure, culminating in a final group exhibition in autumn. The seminars are led by experienced art historians and producers, with guests including curators, gallery owners, artists, and other experts. With over 450 alumnae and an ever-growing network, Goldrausch Künstlerinnenprojekt provides a solid foundation. It is co-funded by the European Union (European Social Fund Plus) and the Federal State of Berlin, subject to approval, covering the programme costs.

Artists are invited to submit work for the Exhibition "Playground". The exhibition will take place from 3 - 6 October 2023 at Bargehouse. Bargehouse is a unique and atmospheric warehouse located in Oxo Tower Wharf on London’s South Bank. The expansive, untouched four-story warehouse, in its raw state, offers a unique backdrop for artistic and curatorial endeavours.

The exhibition will be open to the general public and collectors.

Eligibility and Selection: Artists at all stages of their careers are welcome to submit. Submissions are accepted in any medium, including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, photography, film, printmaking, installation, sculpture, and mixed media. Artists are welcome to submit their portfolios for selection. We may admit 1-3 works from one artist. A mini-series counts as one artwork.

CAW MVMT invites digital artists to join the "Merely Random" exhibition at Art In Space, Dubai. This immersive exhibition celebrates the beauty of serendipitous and creative exploration. Inspired by Orson Welles' 1973 film 'F for Fake', Doozy presents an open exhibition for artists in Bristol and beyond to exhibit at the Cube Microplex. We are interested in the potential for games of illusion and trickery that the theme 'F for Fake' affords. 'F for Fake' is ostensibly a film about art forgery, fake journalism, hoaxes, and the tender precipice of illusion and reality that straddles the fourth wall of belief/disbelief.

The ISC Innovator Award recognizes individuals, organisations, or collectives for creative social innovation in the field of contemporary sculpture. Through the development of new ideas and work, recipients of this award improve and expand the ways that sculpture can effect change. We are excited to launch ILLUMINE, an ambitious light art commissioning opportunity for Black and POC artists. This is a positive action that recognises and responds to the lack of artist diversity at festivals of light art. The opportunity is to create a new, striking light art installation that will tour multiple light art festivals in the north of England, be seen by more than one million people, and capture the hearts and minds of audiences.

Eligibility: We invite applications from UK-based Black and POC artists who may be working in light art, other media, or other artistic practices. As this is a mid-to-large-scale commission, we expect artists to have an established professional practice with a demonstrable portfolio of previous work. This commission is not suitable for new or emerging artists.

What you get: The ILLUMINE commissioning opportunity includes an artist’s bursary of £8,000 to research, create, and present an original, exciting, and captivating proposal for a new light artwork.
