The Clive Parks, Recreation and Public Art Board invites you to apply to participate in our annual Art Along the Trail public art exhibition - a temporary outdoor exhibit, displayed outdoors along Clive’s landmark feature, the Greenbelt Park and Trail system, from April through November. Make Your Own Masters (MYOM) is a creative learning movement looking to tackle the ‘drop off’ between university and industry. Each year the project builds a multi-disciplinary, multi-background collective, bringing people together to forge a year of self-directed learning, and breaking down the barriers many face in pursuit of a creative career. MYOM supports those from underrepresented backgrounds struggling to access the creative industry.

Eligibility: Open to anyone from any creative discipline that has faced a barrier to learning or industry. Participants should be able to commute to London for monthly sessions.

What you get: An 18-month part-time experimental learning system including mentorship, brief sourcing from industry, and specialized training. Participants receive a £400 programming fee and a £600 event budget.

East Quay are seeking proposals for a new piece of outdoor artwork to engage both physically and conceptually with the building's unique architecture and coastal location. We are particularly interested in receiving proposals for artworks which are predominantly painted and made up of sculptural and/or planted elements, reflecting our surrounding environment. Proposals should animate different facets of the Bridge/Walkway site, from the walls, to the floor, to the open space between either side of the bridge. The theme is 'Joy & Wonder'.

Award-winning charity Outside In is delighted to announce that Christie’s London and The New Art Gallery Walsall in the West Midlands will host its seventh National Open exhibition in 2025-2026.

The exhibition has the theme of ‘Shelter. Selected artists will exhibit in the physical show, however, all artists who submit work will have the opportunity to showcase their work on dedicated screens at the final exhibition.

Eligibility: Artists who fit Outside In’s criteria (of encountering significant barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation) and who sign up to create a free online gallery, can all submit work on this theme for consideration. Submissions are welcomed from artists at all career stages and in any medium.

The RA Schools have been a key part of the Royal Academy since its founding in 1769. We offer a full-time, three-year programme with no fees. This postgraduate programme is studio-based, and incoming students join a community focused on critical debate with access to specialist workshops, lectures, group critiques, tutorials, and artist talks. Our graduates go on to make significant cultural contributions in the UK and around the world. Applications for October 2025 entry are now open. Eligibility: Candidates have usually gained a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art or have equivalent experience. In recent years we have accepted candidates straight from BA, but the majority have spent time working independently as artists.

As of admissions season (2023/24) we will not consider applications from those who have an MA in Fine Art.

Candidates may have exhibited in group or solo shows, but it is by no means required.

There is no upper age limit for candidates. The current age range of artists in the RA Schools is from early 20s to late 40s. There are between 10-17 places per year.

Fighting With Pride, on behalf of HM Armed Forces and funded through a government grant, are looking to appoint an artist to deliver a public memorial to be installed at the National Memorial Arboretum. This is to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the LGBT+ Armed Forces community and to recognise the hidden history of LGBT+ Service in HM Armed Forces.

Eligibility: This is an open call to artists with previous experience of public sculpture and who have had a previous commission to the value of £50k or more, who are in residence in the UK and/or whose practice/production is based in the UK.

Working with leading practitioners, this free Training Scheme develops artists' skills in supporting cross-curricular learning through the arts to underpin diversity, inclusion and equality. The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) Longwood Arts Project seeks a Bronx-based Curatorial Fellow for a unique opportunity to assist with the implementation of the Longwood Art Gallery 2025 series of three exhibitions. The exhibitions will revolve around the theme “The World We Want to Live In” and examine art’s role in social and political movements – not only raising awareness, but also catalyzing public discourse and bringing new audiences into activism.

Eligibility: The Curatorial Fellow must reside in the Bronx, be able to travel within the borough, and hold a bachelor's degree in art or a related field. Experience in a museum or arts organization is preferred.

What you get: The Curatorial Fellowship program is highly competitive, and offers high-quality, real-world experience and mentorship to an emerging arts professional/curator in the visual arts field. This paid, six-month fellowship will allow the Fellow to work closely with inspiring BCA staff and creatives in one of the leading non-profit organizations in NYC. The Curatorial Fellow will receive a stipend of $3500 for their training and assistance in the exhibitions. The Fellowship will run from January 2025 through the end of June 2025, with a schedule of two days a week for five hours per day.

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) is seeking a Bronx-based youth journalist for our Youth Engagement Program (YEP) to write three (3) articles related to the Longwood Art Gallery exhibitions, specific artists and artworks, and/or topical essays.

Interested writers must submit examples of their work for consideration. The opportunity will require the youth journalist to travel to the gallery prior to, or during the exhibition’s opening night to review the artworks and interview the artists and curators, if available.

Eligibility: The journalist must be a Bronx resident, aged 18-24, and a student or recent graduate of a journalism, literature, or writing program.

What you get: Journalists will receive a $200 stipend per 500-word article, which will be featured in the Longwood Art Gallery ISSUU Exhibition Catalogue on the BCA website. They will write one article per exhibition (three total). Both the author and BCA retain reproduction rights with proper credit.

London's largest life drawing group, the Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, is offering three free year-long membership bursaries to young artists aged between 18 and 30.

Eligibility: The bursaries are intended for those who have had limited access to life and portrait drawing and painting, rather than artists who are already accomplished in this field. Artists can work in any medium or media, except those that cause damage or disruption to the galleries.

What you get: The opportunity to attend weekly life drawing sessions at Mall Galleries free of charge for a year, starting from January 2025. Untutored sessions will take place on Friday evenings and selected Monday evenings, between 6:00pm and 8:15pm. (Understandably there might be times when artists are unable to attend sessions, however frequent absences may result in the bursary being withdrawn). The sessions offer an opportunity for serious artists to develop their skills and artistic interpretation of the human figure in a stimulating and supportive atmosphere.

Designers in Residence invites young international designers to Pforzheim. It is an international design scholarship offered by the city of Pforzheim in cooperation with Pforzheim University and the Design Center Baden-Württemberg. The scholarship is open to young designers from fields such as jewellery, fashion, accessories, industrial, graphic design, and other areas of design. Three designers will be invited to work on their projects from 1 April to 30 June 2025 at the EMMA Creative Center, the central platform for creatives in Pforzheim.

What you get: The scholarship includes the use of fully equipped workshops and coworking spaces at the EMMA Creative Center in Pforzheim, as well as free accommodation for the three-month period. The Austrian Cultural Forum London has announced the return of the Wolf Suschitzky Photography Prize for its fourth edition. They invite submissions from photographers based in Austria and the UK on the theme of “All the world’s a stage.” Inspired by this line from Shakespeare’s play As You Like It, we were moved by Wolf Suschitzky’s ability to capture the human experience. With his camera, he documented and found beauty in both universal and personal moments.

An international jury will select two winners—one based in Austria and one in the UK—who will each receive a 10-day residency in the partner country, a cash prize of €500, and an exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum in 2025 and FOTOHOF Salzburg in 2026.

Eight shortlisted artists will also be invited to participate in exhibitions in London and Salzburg.

The prize, which celebrates and reflects Wolf Suschitzky’s strong connection to both his land of birth and his chosen home, is presented in partnership with FOTOHOF Salzburg and with the generous support of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport of the Republic of Austria.

This prize is free to enter.

Founded in 1918, the British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA) is the leading UK trade association for the fine art and antiques community. The BADA is proud to announce that the BADA Art Award is returning for a fourth year, promoting “the antiques of tomorrow” by awarding a £1,000 grant to an emerging contemporary artist whose work exemplifies the enduring ingenuity and quality illustrated by our members’ objects.

Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have completed a post-secondary education at a UK institution. Submissions must be original works produced within the last 2 years. Beyond this, there are no criteria - all media and styles are welcome.

What you get: The finalists' works will be on public view at the BADA Week reception in a gallery in St James’s, London on 14th November 2024 where the winner will be announced. The winner will receive a £1000 grant.

Equal Temperament highlights the inclusivity of modern metalworking in a juried art show, accompanied by a variety of interpretive programming to showcase metal’s links with other artistic and historical forms. The show invites artists to submit works inspired by or including metalworking or forging that safely fit within a USPS Flat Rate Shipping Box. The works will be juried by an independent panel and showcased at the Kentucky Museum during a 10-month exhibition from July 2025 to April 2026.

arebyte, in partnership with Goldsmiths University invites digital artists from around the UK to participate in a four-month residency programme in London, to critically challenge, disrupt, and redefine the boundaries of digital creativity and innovation. The three selected participants will receive a free desk space at arebyte’s facilities in London City Island, curatorial support and guidance, a £1,000 stipend, and access to Goldsmiths University fabrication facilities.

Eligibility: Practicing digital art or new media technology artists, researchers and creatives. There are no age requirements, but applicants must be in London for the duration of the residency. You do not need a formal education to apply.

What you get: Participants will receive free desk space located at arebyte’s London City Island Studios (7 Botanic Square, E14 0LG) for the duration of the residency and access to Goldsmiths Universities facilities, a curatorial session with arebyte’s Creative Director, a curatorial session with an external curator of their choosing, ongoing production support from arebyte's Production Manager, and £1,000 stipend to acquire materials, additional training, further research and development or other needs related to their practice.

Artists from all countries are invited to submit their works for consideration. You may submit works in any medium, including painting, photography, printmaking, installation, sculpting, mixed media, poems, and illustration. The theme of the exhibition is OPEN.

What You Get: The exhibition will be hosted in one of the most artistic areas in Barcelona. The event kicks off with an Opening Night on October 6, 2024, followed by a public exhibition running from October 7 to October 10, 2024, at Carrer Sant Marc 26, 08012, Barcelona. The exhibition spans five days, culminating in a private viewing on the evening of Sunday, October 6th, from 19:30 to 22:00. Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN), London’s Screen Archives (LSA) and Brent Museum and Archives are excited to announce a new residency for an artist to undertake a period of research and respond to the history and ongoing legacy of the British Empire in Brent.

Eligibility: Artists who work with moving image as part of their practice Artists based in London Preference will be given to artists with a connection to Brent (i.e. currently or previously living or working in Brent, or with other strong links with the area)

What you get: Fees The selected artist will receive: £3,000 to support their research. (This is estimated based on 10-12 days of work e.g. one day per week across 12 weeks). £3,200 to deliver a public-facing response developed from research undertaken over the residency period. This includes the artist’s fee and additional costs involved in the residency outcome (e.g. clearances of archival material).
