Bushwick Gallery is seeking visionary artists for Metamorphosis: Transformations in Art, an exhibition exploring themes of evolution, rebirth, and change.

Eligibility: We welcome artists across all disciplines—painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, textiles, and interdisciplinary work—to interpret transformation in compelling and innovative ways.

7th Puchi Award: Call for Bold and Unique Comic & Illustrated Book Projects

The Puchi Award is open to the most unique book proposals in the fields of comics and illustrated books, as well as hybrid projects. The Puchi Award has launched its next call for applications with a renewed focus on graphic content and a biennial schedule. The financial prize has also been increased to €10,000. The award seeks audacious projects with a distinct personality and clear artistic interest, where images play a central role—never merely an accessory or complement—in the narrative or exhibition development of the work.

Eligibility: Any natural person of legal age, of any nationality, with an original and unpublished work, may participate.

What you get: The winner will receive a prize of €10,000 (VAT and other taxes included, as an advance payment for the publishing rights of the work), along with the publication of the work, which will be distributed by Fulgencio Pimentel.

Jacob Fabrikant Creative Fellowship in Health Humanities

The Jacob Fabrikant Creative Fellowship invites an artist or writer to work with the members and students of the Centre for Health Humanities to develop their creative practice on a theme related to the health humanities.

This year we are offering one grant of £5,000 to work on a project linked to one of our core research themes. The appointed Fellows will be asked to plan and deliver at least two events aimed at staff or students at UCL, and, as appropriate, a wider public. These could be seminars, creative workshops or any other encounter that allows people to collaborate.

Eligibility: Open to any creative practitioners based in the UK.

What you get: £5000 grant. Collaboration and networking opportunities with researchers in the Health Humanities, as listed on the Centre for Health Humanities website.

Midsummer Festival - Open Call - Commission

Midsummer Festival returns to Milton Keynes in June 2025. Milton Keynes City Council are seeking proposals for four new commissions inspired by the Summer Solstice, which can be delivered as part of the Midsummer Festival.

Eligibility: The Midsummer Festival team are looking to appoint creative practitioners and/or cultural organisations to develop and deliver a new commission that will temporarily activate Midsummer Boulevard East, for the duration of the Midsummer Festival 2025, open to all creative fields.

Open Call for Musicians, Poets, and Filmmakers

Our exhibitions have increasingly included opportunities for readings, screenings, and performances, typically held within the exhibition spaces. We've opened this dedicated call to connect with more musicians, poets, and filmmakers who are interested in being part of upcoming programs. We also love “debuting” work that artists make outside their primary discipline—projects that haven’t settled into a classification yet, that the artist hasn’t shared before or hasn’t found the right context for presenting.

Eligibility: Musicians, writers, filmmakers, or other multidisciplinary artist located within the U.S., above the age of 18. Open to emerging and established artists.

What you get: Artists will have the opportunity to present their work at one of our free public programs with the space of one of our 2025-2026 exhibitions.

The Assembly House Trust Summer Open Exhibition

We are now accepting submissions for the 2025 Summer exhibition. The exhibition will be held in The Noverre Ballroom at The Assembly House in Norwich in June. There is no theme, submission fee, or commission taken.

Jackson's Art Prize 2025

Jackson’s Art Prize is open for entries for the tenth year, and invites artists working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, of all ages and abilities, to enter. Enter before the 25th February 2025.

There are 23 awards to be won, offering a range of prizes including art materials provided by trusted brands, inclusion in two London exhibitions, and a First Prize of £6,000 plus £2,000 in Jackson’s art materials. This year’s Guest Judges are Anne Rothenstein, Anita Klein, Péjú Oshin, Joshua Donkor, Hugo Barclay, and Andrew Torr.

Eligibility: The competition is open internationally, to artists working in painting, drawing, and printmaking in any subject matter.

What you get: There are 23 awards to be won: First Prize, six Guest Judges Choice Awards, five Jackson’s Choice Awards, a Student Award, Amateur Award, People’s Choice Award, plus eight Material Awards supported with prizes sponsored by notable brands. tARTget Painting Prize, Madrid, Spain

Don't miss the chance to participate in one of the most prominent international painting competitions. The tARTget Prize is an international painting competition celebrating its inaugural edition, offering over $55,000 in prizes, with a first prize of €12,000.

It is sponsored by some of the world’s leading fine arts brands and features a distinguished jury comprised of prominent international painters, gallery owners, and collectors. This represents a fantastic opportunity for painters who wish to win substantial cash prizes, advance their careers, or simply open doors to new opportunities.

Eligibility: The competition is open to painters worldwide across all techniques and styles within the various categories. tARTget will award prizes in 10 categories, ranging from figurative art to abstract and conceptual art. Works from hyperrealism to impressionism, surrealism, and abstraction are accepted. You can submit as many works as you wish and in as many categories as you prefer. The theme is open. Artists can participate and win in one or multiple categories. There is no limit to the number of artworks you can submit. The same artwork can be entered in several categories. The works do not need to be for sale or available for the live exhibition to compete and win, except for the main acquisition prizes.

What you get: Over $43,000 in cash prizes and another 50 prizes in painting materials, training, and promotion in galleries and specialised media.

After selecting the 200 finalists, the organisation, along with an additional panel of jurors, will determine which works will be included in the grand physical exhibition to be held in Madrid from 5 to 12 June at the historic Ateneo de Madrid, steps from the Prado Museum and the Thyssen Museum, where most of the winners will be announced.

Fee: The entry fee for the contest is €50 for the first artwork and €30 for each subsequent artwork or different category. For participants under 25 years old, the registration fee for the first artwork is €35 and €15 for each subsequent artwork.

The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Open Call 2025

The Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP) invites artists worldwide, aged 18 and over, to submit artwork for the RP Annual Exhibition 2025 at Mall Galleries. Selected artists will have their work exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, with potential for sales and commissions.

Eligibility: Artists may enter a maximum of four works each, from which up to three works per artist may be selected. Works should not be larger than 2.4m along the longest dimension. Works must have been completed in the last three years and not have been exhibited in London previously.

Acceptable media include paintings, drawings, and original prints—including digital/iPad prints. Sculpture and photography are not admissible. Works should be based on a sitting or study of the human figure from life. We understand that artists may use photographs for assistance, but the primary source should be from life.

What you get: The total prize fund is £30,000, including The William Lock Portrait Prize of £20,000.

The Homiens Art Prize 2025

The Homiens Art Prize is an international, non-acquisitive art prize that is valued at $24,000 annually and is open to all artists.

Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours – Open Call 2025

Artists are invited to submit work for exhibition alongside members of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at the RI Annual Exhibition 2025. Submissions are online only and open until Tuesday 28 January 2025 at 12 noon.

Back to Basics - Residency Program in Finland, Summer 2025

FluxusMuseum Prize For Experimental Video 2025

After its successful debut, FluxusMuseum Prize for Experimental Video is now in its second year. Over the duration of this year’s prize, €45,000 will be given to participants, with a portion used to support the development of their projects initially and the remainder awarded as prizes at the exhibition’s end.

Eligibility: No requirements, open call available to artists of all disiplines and at all stages of their career.

Call: minus20degree Biennale 2026

minus20degree is a contemporary art and architecture exhibition that takes place every two years in Flachau, Austria. The 2026 edition runs for three days, from 22nd to 24th January 2026.

We are seeking artists working in the fields of sound art, video art, performance, theatre, installation, or dynamic land art. For this edition, we are particularly interested in art that occupies and interacts with space, art that is mobile or encourages audience movement. We also welcome proposals for sound and video art that use the snowy landscape as an endless projection surface.

Fabrica Open Call for an Artist Commission in Brighton & Hove 2025

We are seeking proposals for an artist commission and participation project exploring themes of wellbeing for young people, to take place between January and October 2025 in Brighton & Hove. The artwork and showcase of other outcomes from the project will be toured nationally between October 2025 and June 2026.

Eligibility: Proposals from artists in any artform but who have demonstrable experience in working in a participatory setting and/or with harder-to-reach audiences.

What you get: The fee is £3,750. A separate budget of £850 is available for materials and expenses for the project, and a further £300 for training/support which will be budgeted with the artist during the planning stage.
