Living Without Leaving? The The Perspective of Adriatic-Ionian Young Artists - OPEN CALL

‘Living Without Leaving?’ is an art competition inviting young artists (18-35) from the Adriatic-Ionian region to reflect on the right to stay, migration, identity, and belonging. Selected artworks will be part of a touring exhibition across Belgium, Greece, Albania, and North Macedonia in 2025.

The initiative is part of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).

Eligibility: Open to emerging and established artists (18-35 years old) who are residents or nationals from: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia. Accepted formats: Painting, ceramics, digital art, mixed media & more

What you get: Nomadic exhibition across 4 different countries (Belgium, Greece, Albania, North Macedonia) + 15 selected artist will receive an artist fee of 200 euros as compensation for their contribution to the exhibition.

Zenjob “History Wall” - €4,000 Art Commission

Zenjob, in partnership with ArtRabbit, is looking to commission a new artwork that embodies the company's history, mission, and ethos, to be installed at their headquarters in Berlin. This is the first commission of its kind for Zenjob, who are excited to commission an emerging artist, creator, illustrator, or muralist for this project, thereby creating something memorable for the company and its team while supporting the creator's professional career in the arts.

For this commission, broadly titled "History Wall," the theme is deeply linked to the company's history, ethos, and mission. Source material about Zenjob is available via links below to enable research and inform your proposal/sketch. The style is entirely up to you; the team is open to any creative direction that can visually express their history and mission, from collage to comic, illustration to fully representative art, whether painted onsite or as a triptych. We welcome your suggestions.

Objective

The artwork should creatively represent the timeline and key achievements of Zenjob, integrating elements that reflect the company’s ethos and spirit. The work can be a mural, illustration, comic strip, collage, mixed media, the team is open to your ideas.

Production and Installation Requirements

Artists are encouraged to propose innovative approaches and concepts that align with the brief. You are encouraged to bring the brief to life as you see fit. However, the following installation requirements are important to consider:

What you get: EUR 4,000 art commission to cover artist fees, materials, and all direct costs associated with the commission. Your work will then be installed in Zenjob's headquarters in Berlin, and will remain in private collection.

The completed artwork will be owned by Zenjob. However, the artist retains the right to display the work in their portfolio and for promotional purposes.

Krio Collective Exhibition Opportunity

I’m seeking four UK-based creatives of Sierra Leonean heritage (visual artists, poets, musicians) to join Krio Collective, an Arts Council England-funded project exploring identity, migration, and African influence on British culture. Participants will engage in monthly group discussions, studio visits, and a group exhibition at The London Lighthouse Gallery in late 2025. A £2,000 fee will be paid to each artist. Fluency in Krio is preferred but not essential.

Eligibility: Visual artists, poets, and musicians of Sierra Leonean heritage. Creatives based in the UK. Francis Crick Institute Commission: OPEN CALL for Artists with a Participatory Practice

The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical research Institution focused on discovery to improve disease treatment, diagnosis, and prevention. Committed to open science, it engages the public through exhibitions at its Manby Gallery, fostering dialogue between scientists and audiences. The upcoming exhibition, based on research from the Skoglund Lab, explores ancient human DNA, revealing insights into evolution, archaeology, and history—sometimes challenging prior beliefs. A participatory project will add inclusive, contemporary perspectives to the exhibition.

Artists As Activists

The theme for the Arts Annual 2025 will be Artist as Activist and we will request work that reflects artistic thoughts and responses to that concept. Artist as Activist is an artist who harnesses the power of creativity to inspire social and political action. Unlike traditional activism that primarily uses direct action or advocacy, artists engage in activism through various forms. In this case visual art. They use their work to challenge norms, raise awareness about issues, and inspire audiences to think critically about the world around them.

Eligibility: All artists over the age of 18 who either work or live in the state of New Jersey are eligible to apply. All mediums are eligible. Proposals that include unfinished or unrealized works will not be accepted. Submitted work has been completed within the past five years. Is available for the duration of the exhibition. Has not been shown in a previous Arts Annual. Submitted work is exhibition-ready. Any work that depicts harmful, unjust, disparaging imagery of anyone or any group will be disqualified.

What you get: Selected artists will have their work displayed at the Rowan Art Gallery and Museum as part of the 2025 NJ Arts Annual. Selected artists will receive a stipend for participation in the exhibition of $500 contingent on timely submission of contractual forms and agreements. Artists are invited to sell their work. All sales negotiations are between the artists and potential buyers. An exhibition catalogue illustrating work by each artist and a directory of the artists represented will be produced. It will be available for all participating artists at Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum. By applying for this opportunity, if selected, you agree to have representation of your selected work included in the exhibition's catalogue.

Apollo Painting School - Residency

An intensive 3-month summer programme designed for UK based emerging artists with a painting practice. The programme will be accessible by open call and applications will be reviewed by a judging panel of internationally acclaimed artists and educators.

The New English Art Club Open Call 2025

The New English Art Club (NEAC) invites artists worldwide, aged 18 and over, to submit artwork for the NEAC Annual Exhibition 2025 at Mall Galleries. Selected artists will have their work exhibited in a prestigious showcase at Mall Galleries, London, with potential for sales and commissions.

Eligibility: Artists may enter a maximum of six works each, from which up to three works per artist may be selected. Works should not be larger than 2.4m along the longest dimension. Work must have been completed in the last two years and must not have been exhibited in London previously.

7th Puchi Award: Call for Bold and Unique Comic & Illustrated Book Projects

The Puchi Award is open to the most unique book proposals in the fields of comics and illustrated books, as well as hybrid projects. The Puchi Award has launched its next call for applications with a renewed focus on graphic content and a biennial schedule. The financial prize has also been increased to €10,000. The award seeks audacious projects with a distinct personality and clear artistic interest, where images play a central role—never merely an accessory or complement—in the narrative or exhibition development of the work.

Jacob Fabrikant Creative Fellowship in Health Humanities

The Jacob Fabrikant Creative Fellowship invites an artist or writer to work with the members and students of the Centre for Health Humanities to develop their creative practice on a theme related to the health humanities.

Open Call for Musicians, Poets, and Filmmakers

Our exhibitions have increasingly included opportunities for readings, screenings, and performances, typically held within the exhibition spaces. We've opened this dedicated call to connect with more musicians, poets, and filmmakers who are interested in being part of upcoming programs. We also love “debuting” work that artists make outside their primary discipline—projects that haven’t settled into a classification yet, that the artist hasn’t shared before or hasn’t found the right context for presenting.

The Assembly House Trust Summer Open Exhibition

Jackson's Art Prize 2025

Jackson’s Art Prize is open for entries for the tenth year, and invites artists working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, of all ages and abilities, to enter. Enter before the 25th February 2025.

There are 23 awards to be won, offering a range of prizes including art materials provided by trusted brands, inclusion in two London exhibitions, and a First Prize of £6,000 plus £2,000 in Jackson’s art materials. This year’s Guest Judges are Anne Rothenstein, Anita Klein, Péjú Oshin, Joshua Donkor, Hugo Barclay, and Andrew Torr.

Eligibility: The competition is open internationally, to artists working in painting, drawing, and printmaking in any subject matter.

This represents a fantastic opportunity for painters who wish to win substantial cash prizes, advance their careers, or simply open doors to new opportunities.

Eligibility: The competition is open to painters worldwide across all techniques and styles within the various categories. tARTget will award prizes in 10 categories, ranging from figurative art to abstract and conceptual art. Works from hyperrealism to impressionism, surrealism, and abstraction are accepted. You can submit as many works as you wish and in as many categories as you prefer. The theme is open. The Royal Society of Portrait Painters (RP) invites artists worldwide, aged 18 and over, to submit artwork for the RP Annual Exhibition 2025 at Mall Galleries. Selected artists will have their work exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, with potential for sales and commissions.

Eligibility: Artists may enter a maximum of four works each, from which up to three works per artist may be selected. Works should not be larger than 2.4m along the longest dimension. Works must have been completed in the last three years and not have been exhibited in London previously.

Works should be based on a sitting or study of the human figure from life. We understand that artists may use photographs for assistance, but the primary source should be from life.

Artquest 30/30 Professional Development Opportunity

30/30 (formerly known as 30works30days) is a free month-long project to encourage daily making, experimentation and risk-taking in your art practice. Your Work Here will take place from 14 February to 1 June 2025 at The Amelia Scott in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. This unique event has no selection criteria or judging panel, ensuring that every artist has the opportunity to display their work. If you are aged 16 or above and live, work, or study in the TN postcode area, we want to see your art! This is your chance to have your artwork displayed at The Amelia Scott.

Eligibility: Must live, work, or study in the TN postcode area. Must be aged 16 or over.

What you get: Artists will be included in the exhibition in the purpose-built exhibition space at The Amelia Scott. Opportunity for artists to have their work seen by 10,000 to 20,000 visitors. All works can be for sale if the artist wishes.

The Homiens Art Prize 2025

The Homiens Art Prize is an international, non-acquisitive art prize that is valued at $24,000 annually and is open to all artists.

Eligibility: The Homiens Art Prize is open to all artists. All art forms, mediums, and completion dates are eligible. We're excited to welcome artworks of all dimensions, on any theme.

What you get: 6 Winning artists are exhibited by Homiens, receive an unrestricted cash award of $500, participate in an optional interview, and may request a letter of recommendation from our Jurors. 12 additional Finalists per round also exhibit with Homiens. Up to 200 artists are Highly Commended and celebrated across our media. This open-themed exhibition invites submissions in any medium such as painting, photography, printmaking, video art, installation, film, sculpting, mixed media, poems, illustration, and more. Be part of an exciting immersive art experience by showcasing your art digitally on our special projectors.

Eligibility: This call is open to artists from any background.

What you get: Selected artists will have their work displayed digitally on special projectors during the exhibition. The event will take place at 38 Sowol-ro 44-gil, Yongsan District, Seoul, South Korea, starting with the Opening Night on February 22, 2025, followed by a Public Exhibition from February 23 to 24, 2025.

Fee: The participation fee is £100 incl. VAT for one artwork, £120 incl. VAT for two artworks, and £180 incl. VAT for three artworks.

Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours – Open Call 2025

Artists are invited to submit work for exhibition alongside members of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at the RI Annual Exhibition 2025. Submissions are online only and open until Tuesday 28 January 2025 at 12 noon.

Eligibility: Artists aged 18+ worldwide can submit up to six original works, with four selected. Eligible pieces must not have been exhibited in London and can include watercolour, acrylic, ink, or gouache on various supports.

What you get: The show, in spring 2024, offers the opportunity to sell your work, win prizes & awards worth over £5,000 and have your art seen by thousands of visitors to Mall Galleries. The exhibition is the largest of its kind in the world, featuring over 400 of the finest contemporary water-based media paintings from around the globe. Since its founding in 1831, the RI has become universally recognised as one of the leading art institutes.
