PRISMA ARTIST IN RESIDENCE OPEN CALL: 2023

Prisma is a volunteer-led cultural association in the most diverse quarter of central Lisbon (Mouraria). Our space exists to provide opportunities for emerging artists through exhibitions and events.


As a resident, you will become immersed in Lisbon’s underground cultural scene developing your practice through independent research and collaboration. The residency is run alongside our exhibition program and schedule of cultural events in which residents are encouraged to participate! Included in the fee is accommodation with castle views, studio space, curatorial guidance, and a final exhibition/performance.

We are accepting applications from all cultural actors, including but not limited to visual artists, performers, filmmakers, writers, curators, and researchers. 

Places are available from April 3rd (1-3 months).

We offer residents the possibility to explore techniques, concepts, ideas, and collaborations, to develop a final project. Throughout you will receive curatorial guidance and support from our welcoming community.


At the end of the program, each resident will be offered the opportunity to exhibit their works in a final exhibition, publication, workshop, open studio, or performance in the gallery space in Prisma.


Artists will receive an official invitation letter to apply for international mobility funds.

Entry fee

The cost for each month of the residency is 750€. Studio residencies cost 350€.

Onassis AiR 2021/22 Open Call

ONASSIS AiR invites artists, curators, designers, activists, collectives, educators, legal advocates, performance makers, economists, architects, filmmakers and other practitioners from any medium of expression or discipline to apply for the second iteration of The School of Infinite Rehearsals: Movements V – VIII, running between September 2021 and June 2022. In Fall 2021, Movement V & VI will collectively explore issues of governance, delving into self-organization (Movement V), and institutions (Movement VI). In Spring 2022, Movement VII & VIII will tackle areas of economies, with a focus on community economies (Movement VII) and philanthropy (Movement VIII).

Prizes / Awards

All accepted participants will receive an individual research fee (€2,500), accommodation in a shared apartment (single room occupancy for each participant) for the duration of the program, travel to/from Athens, a collective research budget of up to €5,000 (euros) that can be used for materials, invitations to other practitioners or organizations that could contribute to the research of the particular topic of Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, research trips, or other needs that the group will collectively decide upon, during their research time at Onassis AiR.
