Onassis AiR 2021/22 Open Call

ONASSIS AiR invites artists, curators, designers, activists, collectives, educators, legal advocates, performance makers, economists, architects, filmmakers and other practitioners from any medium of expression or discipline to apply for the second iteration of The School of Infinite Rehearsals: Movements V – VIII, running between September 2021 and June 2022. In Fall 2021, Movement V & VI will collectively explore issues of governance, delving into self-organization (Movement V), and institutions (Movement VI). In Spring 2022, Movement VII & VIII will tackle areas of economies, with a focus on community economies (Movement VII) and philanthropy (Movement VIII).

Prizes / Awards

All accepted participants will receive an individual research fee (€2,500), accommodation in a shared apartment (single room occupancy for each participant) for the duration of the program, travel to/from Athens, a collective research budget of up to €5,000 (euros) that can be used for materials, invitations to other practitioners or organizations that could contribute to the research of the particular topic of Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, research trips, or other needs that the group will collectively decide upon, during their research time at Onassis AiR.

Since its creation in 2019, Bleur’s mission is to showcase emerging talents and make space for diverse voices to be heard. For us, buying art is about creating a strong bond between art buyers and artists by sharing the stories behind the artist’s work.

Bleur is artist-led which means that we understand the challenges artists can face. Supporting artists at the start of their journey is the reason why Bleur

exists. From talking through career choices, business decisions and artistic direction to giving mothers and fathers headspace by looking after their little ones while they create, we are there every step of the way.

Rotterdam Photo Container Expo Contest

Rotterdam Photo Festival is back for a brand new edition 2021! We are extremely excited to launch this year’s open call on the theme #PlanetHuman.

The 2021 edition of the festival takes place from 04 until 07 February 2021.

Andreu World International Design Competition

 


Design competition

Deadline: 27 November 2020

The subject of the competition is to compete, a sustainable seat (chairs, armchairs, lounge chairs, stools, benches and sofas)  and/or table (meeting and conference tables, center or auxiliary) design must be presented that meets all the specifications that Andreu World presents in the product briefing, solving its technical and formal problems in the terms indicated for its production in series.

The design must consider the entire product lifecycle with a clear focus on the responsible use and selection of materials, as well as their subsequent use to ensure high durability and longevity.

European Festival for Perfoming Arts

We are looking for six guest-performances considering especially the scope of performing arts, although works which align with related art forms or have a transdisciplinary approach are also welcome to be submitted.

Video Art Call

 Video art call - sustainable views

Deadline: 30 August 2020


The call is addressed to Italian and International artists involved in video making, who want to propose a creative view in terms of environmental sustainability and responsible recycling.


The aim is to provide ideas for a sustainable lifestyle through the videodocumentation of solutions already in place, or to approach the issues of environmental sustainability (including recycling and waste disposal) with a proactive, utopic and positive view, in order to stimulate reflection on climate change.

The contest is addressed both to individual artists and to collectives.
Each artist/group of artists can submit one single video.

Artistic Residency Prize: promoted by Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto.
A week long residency with Unidee (University of Ideas).
The winner video will be projected at events and exhibitions in accordance with
Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto.

Workshop Prize: promoted by PAV - Parco Arte Vivente.
Two workshops with artists from the PAV art program.
The winner will be allowed not only to participate at the workshops, he/she will
also be allowed to film them.

The winner video will be projected at events and exhibitions in accordance with
PAV Parco Arte Vivente.

Exhibition Prize: promoted by Espronceda - Institute of Art & Culture
The two winners will also have the opportunity to show thier videos during an
exhibition at Espronceda - Institute of Art & Culture, under the Collettivo IF
curatorship.

The two winners will be awarded publicly during the event “Dove lo getto? -
Quello che devi sapere sul monouso compostabile e il riciclaggio”, in a ceremony
that will include the projections of their videos.

CLAIRVOYANTS 2020

International competition for an illustrated children's book project

Deadline: 15 December 2020


The aim of the competition is to launch the process of creating beautiful and valuable books for children and to give the opportunity to talented authors, illustrators and book designers to become known on the book market. 

Participants must be at least 18 years old.

The purpose of the competition is to prepare a project (draft) of an illustrated children’s book in Polish or in English language. Submission should include a storyboard or a script of the whole book, together with 3 finished double spreads and a summary in English (obligatory) and in Polish (only if the whole project is in Polish).

Prizes:
The main prize of EUR 2,500 and two honourable mentions – by the international jury;
Book publication – by the Dwie Siostry Publishing House jury;
Admission in the post-competition exhibition.

Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2021(TAAF2021) calls for feature and short animated films with high potential and strong messages from all over the world. Our aim is to screen high-quality animated films superior in originality, provide opportunities to inspire audience as well as creators, cultivate new talents, and contribute in the development and promotion of animation cultures and industry.


Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2021 (TAAF2021) is an international animation film festival organised by the Association of Japanese Animations and TAAF Executive Committee, and co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. TAAF2021 will take place in Tokyo in March 2021.

Feature Animation (60 min. or longer)

Short Animation (less than 30 min.)
