PASSEPARTOUT PHOTO PRIZE - 10TH EDITION - ROME

 Passepartout Photo Prize aims to support the development of talented photographers from all over the world by awarding 1,000 euros in monetary prizes every year, organizing exhibition in a fine art gallery in the heart of Rome and more.

What makes our contest unique is that we collaborate with various professionals in the contemporary art and photography industries. Our jury is a diverse blend of photographers, editors, gallerists, curators and educators who bring kaleidoscopic perspectives into our selection process. 

It is an open-theme contest. Photographic works of any kind of artistic style, size and technique (digital, film and experimental processes, digital collages, and other mixed media) are accepted. AI-generated images as a part of the photographic process are accepted.

The application is open to photographers from all over the world without any age limit. We embrace innovative and original approaches to contemporary photography. We welcome various artistic languages applied to the photographic image, including, but not limited to, experimentation and fusion of different genres.

Annual exhibition will take place in Rome, Italy, every autumn. The exhibition will be hosted by 28 Piazza di Pietra Fine Art Gallery, an international gallery specializing in contemporary art of both emerging and established international artists. The gallery is located in the historic center of Rome where local and international visitors and art collectors gather. This modern gallery, beautifully integrated and built on the ancient ruin of the Hadrian Temple structure, is an impeccable site to display artworks of many genres.

The Idaho Falls National Exhibition is an annual juried exhibition by the Idaho Falls Arts Council and exhibited at the Willard Arts Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Artists working in all mediums throughout the United States are invited to submit. All accepted artworks are exhibited in the two beautiful galleries at the Willard Arts Center, included in a full color printed catalogue, and posted to the Arts Council’s website. Artists may submit up to three artworks for a chance to win $1,625 in prizes.

The history of photography has a long tradition of representing women as subjects but has less to say about women as artists. Today, the roles of women in photography are both behind the camera and in front of it. Who understands women better than women? The female perspective offers an important view of the many facets of womanhood and women’s role in society. This exhibition seeks women photographers who explore and celebrate the myriad ways that they render female-identifying subjects. 

New Visionary Magazine is a print and digital publication featuring contemporary artists, exclusive interviews with art world professionals, and valuable art career resources. Published by Visionary Art Collective, a New York City-based Contemporary Art & Artist Development company, our mission is to uplift artists through features, virtual exhibitions, podcast interviews, and mentorship programs. To increase visibility for our featured artists, we distribute print copies at major art fairs, including Affordable Art Fair NYC and Superfine NYC, offering exposure to a broader and engaged audience.

Issue 13 will be curated by Erin Schuppert, Director of Affordable Art Fair NYC. After working for almost a decade in the auction and blue-chip gallery world, Erin Schuppert became the Director of Affordable Art Fair NYC in January 2022. With a mission to spread the joy of collecting art in an accessible and welcoming way, the fair holds two editions annually, in March and September. Each fair hosts over 75 galleries from around the world showcasing over 400 artists. Inspired by her vision to make a positive contribution to the vibrant NYC arts ecosystem, Erin began the Fellowship Program shortly after joining the fair. The Program invests in the long-term growth and success of local emerging galleries, inviting them to exhibit at the fair free of charge over three editions. Erin is also proud to work with local organizations such as Arts Gowanus, Materials for the Arts, FIT, and The Art Therapy Project to create joyful, engaging, and welcoming arts experiences. She holds a BA in Art History from Boston University and an MA in Museum Studies from NYU.

Eligibility: This international opportunity is open to women artists of all experience levels. There is no specific theme for this issue, and we are seeking a diverse range of artwork to feature. Selected artists will receive a 2-page spread, which includes a Q&A and multiple images of their artwork.

We accept all 2D & 3D mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, and installation art.

You may submit 3-4 images of your work for $25, 5-6 images for $28, or 7-8 images for $32. If selected, we require a $35 publishing fee prior to the magazine's release date. This fee helps us to cover the cost of printing and distributing the magazine to our growing list of galleries.

Project Description

The new UNMC CORE Building (Campus Operations and Research Excellence) – is located in the new EDGE District at the corner of Saddle Creek Road and Farnam Street in Omaha. The EDGE District is anticipated to a hub for health-focused scientific discovery, entrepreneurship and commercialization. The CORE Building will be frequented by UNMC faculty, staff, students, researchers, and more.

The CORE building will enhance existing UNMC research environments with computer-based research and wet lab-based research for drug discovery, oncology research and other strategic research areas at UNMC. The shelled research floors are designed to provide essential lab and office environments, promoting collaboration among startup founders, industry leaders, scientists and inventors. In addition, the incubator lab space – tailored for startups – is outfitted with features and shared equipment to facilitate safe experimentation and expedite research endeavors. Site and Artwork Overview

This UNMC CORE building (Campus Operations and Research Excellence) is located on the UNMC Saddlecreek Campus in Omaha, Nebraska, and is a hub for cutting edge medical technology and research. The Committee envisions artwork that is striking and bold, and exemplifies the cutting edge nature of the work being done on this campus.

A work that combines concepts about both art and science is preferred. The artwork should add to the inspirational goals of the CORE building, seeking to cultivate collaboration, innovation and discovery, and elevate the university’s role as a leader in innovation and research.

The artwork should also enhance UNMC’s reputation as a center of excellence and opportunity. The artwork can include light and technology, and should be durable and easy to clean. Additional details about potential artwork sites are on the following pages. Artists can use more than one site. Quality over quantity and the adherence to the budget, will be considered.

The Westbrook Music Building is a facility within the Glenn Korff School of Music in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which is Nebraska’s only land-grant university. The Glenn Korff School of Music is a professional, comprehensive arts institution devoted to the advancement of music and dance, the preparation of the next generation of arts professionals, and service to the arts professions/institutions. It holds the following key values: collaborative, inclusive, and creative.

The Glenn Korff School of Music brings the world to Nebraska, and represents Nebraska to the world, by bringing together students from a wide diversity of backgrounds to develop their excitement, knowledge, expertise, and practice of music and dance. There are currently more than 400 students enrolled, with areas of study ranging from composition/history/theory, conducting, dance, jazz studies, music education, performance, and more. The new Westbrook Music Building will house an array of rehearsal rooms, practice rooms, the library, a performance space, classrooms, and faculty offices/studios. It is also located in close proximity to the Lied Center for Performing Arts, The Sheldon Museum of Art and its noteworthy outdoor sculpture garden.

Site and Artwork Overview

This newly constructed Westbrook Music Building is located on the corner of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln city campus. The main entrance to the building is located at the corner of the campus that opens to downtown Lincoln. That entrance opens to four-story, light-filled hallway that leads into a lobby with an atrium. That Hallway and Lobby are the artwork site for this project and can be viewed from many different vantage points within the building.

The Committee would consider work that creates a cohesive experience by using the volume and span of the artwork site. The Committee envisions artwork that is striking and bold, and exemplifies the inherent nature, scholarship and/or curiosity of the research, studies, and creativity occurring in the Westbrook Music Building. In the submission, artists should include in the artist statement how they intend to use the artwork site.

The committee would consider many different types of public art interventions, including but not limited to installations and technological works. However, the ceiling in this space was not built to support artwork hanging from the ceiling. For artwork within 8 feet from the ground, the artwork can not extend past 4” to be ADA compliant. Artwork should use materials that are long lasting, and require simple cleaning/maintenance management.

Given the values of the Glenn Korff’s School Music, and in recognition of its status as a land-grant university, the Committee would like to invite students and faculty of the Glenn Korff School of Music to interact with the three finalists twice during the projected timeline. Applicants to this project must acknowledge and consent to the interactivity requested. The first interaction would be an informational meeting, which would take place in the time allotted for finalists to create their proposals, and would be a session where artists can interact with the people using the space for information about what they do and how they envision the space. The second interaction, which would take place during the proposal presentation meeting, would involve students and faculty listening to the finalist’s presentations to the Committee. The final deliberation and decision would be made by the Selection Committee, alone.

Le projet de L’Industrie Magnifique est la rencontre, sur la place publique, entre 2 domaines : l’art et l’industrie. Artistes et industriel·les collaborent pour faire de la ville une galerie d’art accessible à tou·tes. Nées en Alsace en 2016, les deux premières éditions de l’Industrie Magnifique ont connu un très grand succès, mobilisant 300 partenaires et attirant plus de 600 000 visiteurs à Strasbourg. En 2023, l’Industrie Magnifique s’est étendue dans d’autres régions. En 2024-2025, l’Industrie Magnifique monte ce projet sur la région lyonnaise avec le Studio Ganek et son partenaire Openlines/Elycoop.

Dans le cadre de L’Industrie Magnifique Lyon/Saint-Etienne, sa direction générale publie un appel à projet ayant pour objet la commande d’une œuvre à un·e artiste par l’entreprise MET’Epur, filiale de Veolia (Saint-Fons). Cet appel à candidature aborde le contexte spécifique de MET’Epur. Il permet d’informer et de guider l’artiste dans sa création. Celui·celle-ci peut s’emparer de tout ou partie de ces sujets qu’iel interprétera dans la création d’une œuvre. L’artiste respectera le calendrier et les contraintes techniques abordées.

L’œuvre produite sera présentée en automne 2025 dans l’espace public à Lyon (d’autres expositions pourraient être faites avant et après son retour en entreprise). L’œuvre produite sera la propriété de MET’Epur, filiale de Veolia. L’artiste reste propriétaire des droits moraux relatifs aux œuvres d’art.

Différentes phases composent le projet :
1 - La phase de création en 2024/25 : des binômes artistes / industriel·les travaillent ensemble pour créer des œuvres inédites.

2 - La phase d’exposition en automne 2025 : 11 jours d’exposition des œuvres produites sur la place publique à Lyon, une galerie à ciel ouvert gratuite et accessible au plus grand nombre.

3 - La phase de pérennisation : le Parcours des Magnifiques - les œuvres retournent en entreprises et profitent aux salarié·es et riverain·nes.

Chaque phase est accompagnée d’actions de médiation en direction de publics ciblés.

La proposition est constituée de : Note d’intention sur votre projet artistique (3 pages maximum)

• Description du processus de travail (temps de résidence de recherche, temps de résidence de production, modalités de travail avec les collaborateurs·ices de l’entreprise, etc)
• Présentation (textes et images) de 3 projets antérieurs qui illustrent votre pratique et votre processus de travail
• Croquis, maquette ou tout document qui permettra de comprendre l’aspect formel de l’œuvre. (Même si cette forme est susceptible d’évoluer en cours de résidence)
• Documents complémentaires non obligatoire : tout document aidant la compréhension de votre démarche ou du projet à venir (textes, images de recherche, croquis, maquettes etc)

Le Centre Photographique d’Île-de-France propose une résidence sans hébergement à un·e artiste dont le travail photographique nécessite l’emploi d’un matériel numérique professionnel.
C’est dans la phase expérimentale de postproduction (retouche, format, chromie…) que la résidence du CPIF intervient en proposant un accompagnement artistique, une aide technique et un matériel adapté à tous types de travaux de recherche et de production d’images sous forme d’impressions jet d’encre.

Le Centre Photographique d’Île-de-France (CPIF) est un centre d’art contemporain d’intérêt national dédié à l’image fixe et en mouvement, dans un champ élargi.

Il accompagne et soutient les expérimentations des artistes français·e·s ou étranger·ère·s, émergent·e·s ou confirmé·e·s, par la production d’œuvres, l’exposition et la recherche en résidences (Atelier de recherche et de postproduction, résidence internationale et résidence Ici, maintenant !).

Attentives aux relations que la photographie contemporaine entretient avec les autres champs de l’art et des sciences humaines, trois expositions personnelles ou collectives par an interrogent les pratiques hétérogènes de la photographie, les démarches réflexives ou conceptuelles dans le champ de l’art contemporain.

Fructôse lance un appel à candidature pour un workshop de recherche et de création, du 22 au 27 février 2025, dans ses ateliers situés à Dunkerque. Dirigé par la commissaire d’exposition Bénédicte le Pimpec, ce workshop est un format expérimental de travail collectif, enrichi d’échanges avec des intervenant.e.s extérieur·es. L’ensemble des artistes participant·es sont présent·es sur-site durant la totalité du workshop.

Bénédicte le Pimpec propose le workshop « Marée montante », moment de réflexion collective sur notre contemporanéité et son pendant pragmatique. Prenant comme point de départ le « Que faire ? » formulé par Jean-Luc Godard dans un manifeste rédigé en 1970 pour la revue Afterimage, ce workshop s’intéresse à la manière de fabriquer des œuvres et des expositions dans le contexte économique, politique et écologique qui est le nôtre et propose d’ajouter « collectivement » à la question du cinéaste. Comment, pour reprendre les mots de l’historienne de l’art Zhong Mengual dans son ouvrage « L’art en commun », « l’art peut-il contribuer à réinventer les conditions et les formes possibles du faire collectif ? ». Il sera ainsi question de notre rapport au commun et à l’action tout au long de cette semaine.

Le rendu du workshop se fera sous la forme d’un projet d’édition mis en œuvre collectivement et imprimé sur les presses de Fructôse. Des intervenant.e.s extérieurs (artiste, historien.ne de l’art…) contribueront à la réflexion et à l’élaboration collective de l’édition.

Implantée depuis 2008 sur le môle 1 du port industriel de Dunkerque, Fructôse est une base de soutien aux artistes évoluant dans le champ des arts visuels. Elle accompagne les processus créatifs et se définit comme un espace de rencontres et de découvertes artistiques pour les artistes et les habitant·es. Son projet se résume en 4 verbes : Fédérer, Soutenir, Valoriser et Connecter.

Durée : du 22 au 27 février 2025 (arrivée le 21 février)

• 21 février : arrivée en fin d’après-midi et diner de bienvenue
• Durant la semaine : sessions de travail collectives, et échanges avec des intervenant.e.s invité.e.s
• 27 février : restitution et souper de fin de workshop
• 28 février : départ des participant·es

La résidence est destinée à un·e artiste ou un collectif d’artistes œuvrant dans le champ des arts visuels (édition, graphisme, typographie, illustration…) liés à l’impression et dont le travail explore des problématiques sociales et politiques.
Elle est dédiée à un travail de création graphique au sens large, prenant en compte les spécificités techniques du lieu de résidence. À cet effet, les espaces et outils de travail de l’imprimerie et un accompagnement professionnel technique et opérationnel est proposé.
Le travail de création devra intégrer une part de questionnement et d’expérimentation que ce soit dans sa forme, son propos ou dans sa diffusion.
La résidence sera rendue visible par les moyens les plus adaptés selon le projet (exposition, édition, restitution, rencontre…).

La résidence sera de 6 semaines (dates à convenir ensemble) et propose les conditions suivantes :

• Bourse de travail : 3000 €
• Budget de production : 1000 €
• Défraiement des repas à hauteur de 600 €
• Les déplacements sont pris en charge à hauteur de 450 €
• Le•a ou les artistes sont hébergés dans les locaux de l’association
• La résidence fera l’objet d’un contrat de résidence.

Cette résidence bénéficie du soutien de la région Bourgogne Franche-Comté et de la DRAC Bourgogne Franche-Comté.

Les éditions La fraternelle

Installées au deuxième sous-sol de la Maison du Peuple de Saint-Claude dans le Jura et héritage de la coopérative ouvrière La Fraternelle, les éditions La fraternelle œuvrent depuis 1984 au sein de l’association éponyme. À la fois lieu de mémoire, espace de création et structure de diffusion des cultures contemporaines, la Maison du Peuple abrite aujourd’hui un cinéma, un théâtre, un café, une boutique, une artothèque, des locaux de répétition, des lieux d’expositions, des hébergements… ainsi qu’un atelier dédié à la création graphique une imprimerie typographique historique, un atelier de sérigraphie tous formats, des outils d’impression numérique et de façonnage ainsi que des espaces de travail collectifs.
La fraternelle accueille chaque saison une résidence de recherche et de création et réalise des éditions d’artistes. L’équipe accompagne également des projets artistiques et pédagogiques pluridisciplinaires et propose une programmation spécifique pour les scolaires et le jeune public.
